Couples & Marriage Counseling
Relationship Therapy
Research findings indicate that most couples take, on average, seven years to get help after the first signs of trouble. And the current statistics still indicate that approximately 50% of marriages end in divorce. The more troubling fact is that divorce does not solve the problems of relationship. We may get rid of our partners, but we keep our problems, carting them into the next relationship. Couples counseling and marriage counseling is indicated for couples who are contemplating making a commitment (“pre-marital” counseling) and wish to have an open, confidential dialogue and a place to discuss anxieties, questions or concerns.
It is also recommended for couples who, unfortunately, are caught in the throes of relationship turmoil, with conflict, anger, resentment, repetitive negative cycles and its characteristic sense of helplessness and hopelessness. Effective couples counseling aims at restoring the connection between partners, and helps couples gain a better understanding of the factors which bring about conflict and healthy ways to heal them.
